Controlled burn for tamarisk (080926-NPS-HORNE-005)

(Sept. 26, 2008) – National Park Service fire management personnel conduct a controlled burn in the Valley of Fire wash near Overton, Nev. in the northern portion of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. LAKE MEAD NRA, Nev. (Sept. 27, 2008) - U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Ranger Robert Peloquin removes trash from Boxcar Cove at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Rangers from the National Park Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Forest Service teamed up on National Public Lands Day to clean-up areas of Lake Mead.
